I haven't blogged about it, but, to make it clear, Kristine and I are expecting a baby boy near labor day.
So far everything looks fine.

I have decided not to post the links I find on the blog anymore... There are better ways to view the links I find such as 'friending' me on del.icio.us or FriendFeed.

Wow! Installing Windows 2003 on a Poweredge isn't very easy. One needs a flash drive that they are willing to format and Windows to run Dell's F6 Driver Utility. In addition, make sure to download the Dell SAS 5/iR driver. Unpack the F6 utility and then unpack the SAS driver into the FILES directory under the F6 Utility. Run the USBKeyPrepF6 application to format the USB stick. Then, finally, place the USB drive into the Dell 840. Start the Windows install, press F6, then S to install the RAID driver.
Link to a more in depth howto.
Fortunately, Ubuntu Hardy (and probably earlier versions of Ubuntu) come with this driver already.
Update: The install last night had an error when trying to start copying files due to the SAS driver again. After some trial and error, I simply decided to try nLite to create a custom boot ISO with the needed driver. The install CD is actually copying files now. Thanks nLite.
