Earlier this week Skype had a worldwide outage. Skype claimed that Windows Update was the culprit; however, I have a feeling, as did Free Software Magazine, that they added some wiretaps for the NSA. Update: There are two alternatives to Skype: OpenWengo and Zfone. OpenWengo is opensource and is most similar to Skype.
